The view from Beatenberg takes in Lake Thun below and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau beyond. The village runs along the hillside rather than gathering around one compact centre. Part of the pleasure is simply being up here, looking across the lake from a path or a lunch terrace.
The Niederhorn rises above the village if you want to go higher. In summer there are meadow walks; winter brings different trails and snow sports. For a paragliding flight, use the operator’s meeting instructions rather than heading straight to a hillside launch.
