Fresh snow changes the walk around Lauterbrunnen and Wengen. Choose an open, prepared winter path for a walk in winter boots, or a marked snowshoe route if you have the right equipment. The local visitor office can help you choose a route for your group.
Wengen adds a train ride from Lauterbrunnen and a walk to the trailhead. Short daylight and slower progress in snow leave less room for a late start. Stay on a suitable marked route; snowshoes do not make unmarked slopes safe. In unfamiliar terrain or uncertain conditions, go with a professional guide.
