The Aletsch Glacier is the reason to come up here, and the Sphinx terrace looks out over the ice. The Ice Palace takes you inside passages carved into the glacier. Getting here takes much of the day, with the Eiger Express from Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher followed by the Jungfrau Railway. The station is at 3,454 metres, below the Jungfrau summit. Save this trip for a clear forecast if the views are your main reason for going.
What to look forward to
- Aletsch Glacier views from the Sphinx terrace
- A walk through the Ice Palace
- The final railway journey from Eigergletscher
